Inside a 2-4 Year Old Class

What Each Child Will Experience In Class…

Research shows that music improves a child’s memory, cognitive development, learning skills, and ability to express emotion.  Music makes a child a better learner, teaches self-control, improves coordination, enhances creativity, and inspires a lifetime appreciation of music and movement.

  • Listening activities help “tune” a child’s ear for improved areas in language and attention skills that ensure early school success.
  • Build social skills such as turn-taking and cooperation through games and ensembles.
  • Strengthen memory and increase attention span through new songs, stories, and rhymes with sufficient repetition to help children remember what they’ve learned.
  • Boost vocabulary with a variety of poems, songs and stories.
  • Instrument play-alongs develop hand-eye-coordination, physical coordination, and a sense of steady beat to help carry out activities such as using a pair of scissors.
  • A multi-sensory approach to teach concepts such as loud and quiet or high and low strengthens the learning.
  • Stop-and-go, as well as creative movement and dance activities improve coordination, sequencing, self-control, the ability to follow directions, and plan and guide behavior.
  • Child-directed learning happens when children share ideas in class and at home with Home Kits.

The ABC Music & Me Home Kit Materials:

How a child brings the integrated learning home

Because we believe home is the most important learning environment, a high-quality Student Take-Home Kit (with CD, story, activities, and parent notes) goes home with every child, every 4-5 weeks.

  • A Home CD full of songs and sounds (plus an audio storytime) turns home time into an extension of “ABC time”!
  • The Family Activity Guide features a read-aloud version of storytime, plus tips and at-home activities to extend the day’s learning.
  • And with an instrument going home every other month, a nice little play-along orchestra is building in every ABC Music & Me home as the year progresses.

If you are a center, and would like more information or to schedule a ABC Music & Me demonstration at your center, please contact us. We look forward to bringing Kindermusik to your classroom!

If you are a parent who has a child in daycare or preschool, and you would like to see ABC Music & Me at your center, please contact us. We will schedule a demonstration with your director so you can see what your child is missing.
