Kindermusik Adventures

Class Structure: 45-60 min/week for 4 weeks

Inspire your child’s love of learning

In a 4 week Kindermusik summer camp, blow bubbles. Play parachute and kite games. Sing. All these summer camp activities—the music and stories—are designed to nurture your child’s natural curiosity, one that eventually draws her toward learning new words, new numbers, and new big ideas. Using an integrated approach with music, movement, storytelling, and (for the upper ages) pretend play, drama, and art, Kindermusik Adventures stimulates imagination, spontaneity, inquiry, and a love of music for your child.

Each Adventures lesson creates an informal, playful environment that encourages children to contribute their original ideas, to experience new music activities, to discover and explore new information, to work cooperatively with others, and to keep their spontaneous music play and sense of wonder alive. Whether packing your picnic basket for a family outing, flying pretend kites, going on a pirate treasure hunt, or making music with the Bremen Town Musicians, Adventures will bring pleasure and a sense of accomplishment while encouraging your child to discover and develop that natural curiosity, creativity, and self expression.

Summer 2013 Classes

Busy Days! (Ages 0-18 months) Whether it’s a trip to the grocery store, the doctor’s office, or the park, even the most mundane outings become extraordinary when we look through a child’s eyes and experience the world as fresh and new. With a little more Tchaikovsky in your “Twinkle, Twinkle,” you’ll experience and develop an appreciation for some of the world’s most respected music. Each lesson features new activities and attention-getting songs and rhymes you can use in all the places you go together on your Busy Days!  At Home Materials include: Home CD, Board Book, Musical Shapes Bell, and Home Poster

Up in the Sky (Ages 18 months – 3. 5 years)

BRAND NEW for 2013!  Inspired by all things that defy gravity and take wing or find their home in the sky, “Up in the Sky” will send you and your toddler soaring through the air.  Before you know it, you’ll be flying pretend kites, stretching like clouds, and dancing like stars.  We’ll hop and fly with a flock of robins, quietly soar with the wise old owl, and see the silver moon boat sail across the sky.  At Home Materials: Kindermusik@Home delivers your favorite Kindermusik songs and activities, instrumental music, books, and lyrics–as well as recipes, learning games, crafts, and more in a green-friendly digital format. With your summer unit, you receive a treasure trove of developmentally appropriate activities that will give children a lifelong love of music and a strong early foundation for learning. And with each activity, parents learn how and why that activity enhances a child’s learning and development. Make Believe (Ages 3-5 years)
BRAND NEW for 2013!  In “Make Believe”, climb aboard the S.S. Pretend and set sail to imaginary places. You’ll dance the Pirate’s Treasure Dance, listen to a story about a pirate named Rupert, visit Royal Island and the castle of a king and queen, meet a friendly dragon, and explore Dinosaur Hollow. ROAR! All this pretend play supports the learning focus: “I can be loud and quiet. Tell Me a Tale (Ages 5-7 years) Through storytelling, children will develop an early awareness of rhythm, movement, singing, and drama. Each lesson features a new tale from around the world, explored through multi-instrument and multi-cultural elements. All told, it’s an around-the-imagination adventure of the greatest stories from Europe, Malaysia, South Africa, and more.  At Home Materials: Tell Me a Tale book, Home CD, two special percussion instruments, and Home Poster.
