Painted Sandwich

This week in “Confetti Days” we talked about colors. We danced with colorful scarves, moved to a song about colors, and played a game which called for color identification. So, to add to the colorful theme, here’s a painted sandwich for you.

You will need:

  • A toaster
  • 2 Slices of bread for each child
  • Peanut butter and jelly (or other sandwich fixings such as cheese and turkey or even cream cheese)
  • 4 Small paper cups for each child
  • 1 New paintbrush for each child
  • Food coloring
  • Milk

Add a few drops of food coloring to each cup of milk.  Using the colored milk and new paintbrushes, have children paint pictures and designs on the bread.  Toast lightly and use the slices to make their favorite sandwiches.
